VILLA ROOSI

The home is energy efficient with passive house level. The house is located in a residential area and has a forest boundary on one side. The outer walls consist of site cast concrete. Outer and inner stringers on both sides of the insulation is poured simultaneously in a specially designed building system. The main concept was to contrast the roughness of the outer walls with very light clean interior elements and a transparent light clear acrylic stair. The idea for the staircase is inspired from the client’s workplace, a factory that produces plastic products. Thus, the plant’s first plastic staircases got produced. The factory produces among others products from famous designers Yki Nummi (“Lokki” / “Sky flyer”) and Eero Aarnio (“bubble chair”). Some of the lamps used in the house were also produced by the same factory and specially made for this project as integrated parts of the site cast concrete.
